Vehicle History:
Everything starts in 1984. I was working in Nigeria/Africa on a container ship. The evenings were very boring and we've wasted our time in looking videos. One of the videos was the movie "Christine". That changed my live. After I was back in my hometown in Germany there was only on thing I wanted to have: A car with tailfins. "Christine" was not affordable and at this time I even didn't know what is a 1958 Plymouth Fury. My money was enough for a Mercedes Heckflosse and after that for a 1959 Opel Rekord nad a 1958 Opel Kapitaen. But those cars were never close enough to this beautiful 1958 Plymouth. Years after I've given up to find a 1958 2door HT, I've found one in a german car magazine......
I've bought the car in 1996 in Marburg/Germany. It was a southern California car (Costa Mesa). Outside the car was in a very good condition and nearly rust free
Inside, mechanical and electrical the car was a wreck. I've fixed most of the problems, became tired of those "rattle-box" and sold the car to a friend. But the car had a very bad time with my friend. He had no time to
take care of the car and storaged it in a very humid place. At the end of 1999 I've bought the car back. Now it was very dirty and very rusty. The motor was also not willing to start. It was a lot of work to make the car shine again, nearly 1.5 years of work.
Now everything looks and works fine and I will never sell the car again. The car is a family member and my personal "Christine".
