Vehicle History:
I was given this car in 1987 by my girlfriend. The car was her parents. Apparently, the sons tried to do a little 'upgrade' to the engine in early 1959 and failed. They gave up their dream of installing a new engine after numerous attempts to install a T-Bird engine in the car failed. The car sat in a conex-shed on the Salt Lake flats of Syracuse Utah. The entire car sank in the mud and dirt and was at first glance a total loss. The original 'flat-head' 6-cylinder engine & transmission sat in the salt mud since 1959 and was destroyed. The cars interior was home to many 'critters' over the years including rats, snakes, rabbits, mice, skunks and racoons. The front and back seats stuffing was used as bedding and nesting material for many years to come. I eventually found the stuffing and padding in the gas tank, the front-air chamber and throughout the cars cracks and crevices and even in the glove-box and overhead light dome light. I have slowly begun a restoration project that has lasted 8 years, 7 1/2 of which I was overseas with the US Government. The car is presently in the capable hands of Kevin Brown of Classic Restorations in Ogden Utah. I hope to have the car completed sometime in late 2002.
