Vehicle History:
My brother had gotten this car in the summer of 1995 which was right before his senior year of high school. When he first got this car, I fell in love with it. We drove 4 hours to get the car and when we brought Her home everyone turned their head to see Her going down the road. He babied that car more than anyone I have ever seen and in 1999 he wanted to rebuild the engine, redo her interior, and give her a shiny new paint job. Well he was dating a girl that would not even ride in the car and if she saw anyone she knew while she was in the car she would duck down so no one could see her and when the time came to restore "Bettie" (named after Bettie Page his favorite pin-up girl) his girlfriend would not let him work on the car and told him it was her or the car. Well my brother being the gentleman that he was he chose her, but when she wasn't around he was down helping to fix up Bettie. My boyfriend (my brother's best friend) and another friend did most of the bodywork and we all tried to point out that if she was that embarrassed of the car then she did not care about him half as much as he cared about her.
On April 14, 2001 he was going over to see his girlfriend because she refused to come see him and on his way there, he was in a car accident that took his life at age 23. Our mom had given me Bettie for my 21st birthday since the car meant so much to me and because I had wanted it restored in memory of my brother. My boyfriend had always wanted a 57 Plymouth like my brother's since he saw it in 1995 and this past summer we had found one in Bend, Oregon so I gave him the money to buy it and get it shipped to Pennsylvania when we met the car carrier my boyfriend had doubts because of the shape his was in, not me I fell in love with his Plymouth and told him that was the most beautiful car in the world next to mine of course. Now he is restoring his Plymouth in red/black the opposite of mine. I can't wait until nice weather breaks so we can bring the "girls" out of the garage and show Them off.
