Vehicle History:
So....I've owned this car about 30 years ,I bought it with a dead engine from the original owner who didn't want to spend the money on a new engine. This car was originally equipped with the hoary 251 cubic inch flat head six and Power Flite. I obtained and rebuilt a 313 V-8 out of a '60 Plymouth and promptly replaced the six. In the process I used the correct radiator/radiator support and brackets etc. to ensure the installation appeared factory in every way , I converted the PowerFlite to water cooling and installed the larger rear brakes as the sixes used the small rear brake. Dual exhausts went on as well. the whole package moves the Savoy along briskly, making it a very pleasing car to drive. It has the usual annoying traits common to these cars (vent windows that will never really seal!) and the "Total contact brakes" which need considerably more attention than the conventional Bendix style Dual servo brake common to later Chrysler prods. But in all honesty I wouldn't have it any other way...these are great cars!!!
